Pharmacy Ordering / Collection Service
Pharmacies offer a prescription collection service from our Practice
Your pharmacy can also order your medication on your behalf. This saves you time and unnecessary visits to the Practice. Please contact the Pharmacy of your choice for more information if you wish to use this service.
About pharmacists
As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:
- coughs
- colds
- sore throats
- tummy trouble
- aches and pains
They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.
By Post
The practice runs a computerised prescription system that allows you to receive long term medication without seeing a doctor every time.
Please hand in your computer printed 'repeats' list (found on the opposite half of your prescription) into reception before you need your medication. If you would like us to return it by post please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
Prescription Theft Important Information
Prescription theft is becoming an increasing problem nationally, especially of prescriptions for common ‘drugs of misuse’. Therefore, to ensure we are operating safely and minimising this risk we are adopting a new process:
- When collecting prescriptions on behalf of a patient from the surgery that includes one or more “controlled drugs” we now require a ‘letter of authority’ from the patient, along with a copy of ID for both the patient and yourself.
For more information on 'controlled drugs' see the gov website
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a clinician at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Medication Queries
Please get in touch with the surgery to raise a query about your medication.
